The Minnesota Blizzard went on the road this past weekend for a two game set vs. the Sioux Falls Stampede at the Scheels Ice Plex.

Game #1

Blizzard -6 Sioux Falls -3

In game one the Blizzard got of to a quick start when Will Svenddal scored off a deflection just :26 in to the game. From there the Blizzard controlled the game and eventually cruised to a 6-3 Win. In this game the Blizzard welcomed back Kyle Heffron to the lineup after missing some time due to injury, Heffron netted 2 goals in his return. Will Pinney played yet another strong game in nets to give the Blizzard the W. Also scoring: Noah Tussey, Logan Kittleson & Johnny Meiers

Game #2

Blizzard -5 Sioux Falls -4

In game two. The Blizzard would come out flat and the stampede would take advantage with 3 quick goals with in the first 7 min to take a 3-1 lead. The Blizzard would settle down and get one back when Garrett Smith banged home a rebound to cut the lead in half at 3-2. The 1st would end 3-2. In the 2nd period the Blizzard would take control of the game and net 3 goals by Johnny Meiers x2 & Kyle Heffron to take a 5-4 lead into the 3rd. The 3rd was a tight checking performance that only allowed the Stampede 6 shots. Great goaltending by Trevor Wong to give the Blizzard the W.
